In order to avoid the worst impacts of climate change we have to take action now, but what actions should we take. Weighing up the degree to which we implement policy, incentivise business, tax emissions, invest in new technology, regulate industry, influence the public, to name a few options, is a challenging, but important debate.

Models can help us understand these complex systems and allow us to explore different possible pathways to success. A number of these models are available on-line for us to experiment with and we have used some of these models to analyse different strategies.

Governmental strategies for achieveing reductions in emissions and protecting the eco-system should lead to specific policies and actions. But how effective might these policies and actions be?
