The Climate Club: Conversation and Supper

Next Meeting: Friday 22nd September (Click here for future dates)

Theme: Bread: a sustainable staple in a Planetarian Diet.

We are going to bake bread, eat bread and talk about bread! Come along at 5.30 if you want to join the baking, and don’t worry if you’ve never baked bread before. We’re going to make a regular loaf, some naan and other flatbreads, and a soda bread. We’ll bring along some tasty morsels to try, like sourdough bread and marmite bread. We’ll eat some great food to accompany our bread. We’ll collectively share our knowledge and experience of bread and of doing things sustainably.

The Climate Club meets every 2nd and 4th Friday from 5:30pm to 8:30pm in the Denningberg Centre, Bridge Street, Godalming, GU7 1HP.

Our Climate Club is an opportunity to get together with others who are concerned about the climate and ecological emergency. It is for anyone who is looking for a community to provide support and help when thinking about these issues, and in making changes to help mitigate and adapt to inevitable changes.

At club sessions, we discuss the latest news and share information concerning the climate and ecological emergency, we occassionally review books and articles on climate change, exchange thoughts and ideas about greener choices, and sometimes watch and reflect on short videos and films.

Join us between 5:30pm and 8:30pm. From 5:30pm to 6:30pm we jointly prepare a planetarian supper, feel free to come along to help cook, engage in general discussion and socialise with friends; you may also wish to bring along a contribution to the supper yourself. Between 6:30pm and 7:00pm, we sit and share the supper. From 7:00pm to 8:30pm with have a facilitated discussion on the theme for the evening.

The Climate Club meets on the 2nd and 4th Fridays each month.
