About What Next?

We are in a climate and ecological emergency. We need to work together to minimise further change and adapt to the consequences of the change we have already experienced. We need to take action on a Local as well as Global scale. At What Next? our goal is to support local communities across Waverley Borough in mitigating, preparing and adapting to the impact of climate change and ecological damage. We aim to provide: information, support, advice, guidance and action through actvities, events, workshops and installations in our centre. Equally important, we aim to provide: entertainment, joy, opportunities for creativity, music, fun, connection and, most all, hope for the future.

Our Goals

Our aim is to raise awareness of the climate and ecological emergency and to encourage the people of Waverley Borough to live more sustainably, consume responsibly and reduce their carbon footprint.

Our intention is to organise community-based workshops and events, educational seminars and support services for the people of Waverley Borough. In addition, we intend to promote and support environmental projects across the Borough and work collaboratively with other climate and ecologically concerned groups.

In Godalming, we run regular activities including our Climate Club, a regular social / discussion gathering and What Next Wednesdays, information and advice from our volunteers who are ‘on-duty’ every Wednesday afternoon.

We also organise ‘pop-up’ street-based events and activities. What Next Lounge is a regular feature at local fairs, such as the Godalming Green Gala, and in Crown Court. We helped organise the Waverley launch of ‘Take the Jump’ in Godalming. We perform street Eco-street Theatre and we have our own ‘Rubbish’ Puppet Theatre.

We aspire to run events across Waverley in Cranleigh, Farnham and Haselmere.
